Colour-Matched Resealing Finishes

Colour-matched resealing uses sanitary silicone close to the suite already fitted, for UK bathrooms where bright white would stand out on an ivory bath, grey tray or black frame. White, ivory, grey, clear or black is named on the quote. Paint is not mixed in. Send the quote form or WhatsApp with a photo and the postcode.

Who it is for

It is for bathrooms where a bright white bead would stand out against an ivory bath, a grey tray or a black frame, and the fitting itself is staying.

01

White

The default on most UK showers and baths. It is still a sanitary silicone, not a decorator’s white.

02

Ivory, grey and clear

Named on the form so the tube is on the van. A photo of the tray helps, and the closest sanitary shade is confirmed before the day.

03

Black frames

A black or dark grey bead is used on a black tray or frame when that colour is in the range. An exact brand match from a photograph is not always possible.

Included, and what this visit is not

Included

  • The colour agreed on the quote
  • Removal of the old bead on that line
  • A tooled sanitary joint in that colour

Not this visit

  • We do not tint silicone with paint or grout dye.
  • We do not promise a match to every obscure manufacturer colour.
  • We do not change the colour of tiles or of the bath itself.

How the visit runs

01

Name the colour on the form and send a photo of the fitting with the postcode.

02

The quote states the sanitary shade that will be used.

03

The old bead is removed so the new colour is not laid over a different one.

04

The joint is tooled and left to cure.

What the quote is based on

White sits in the normal reseal bands: about £90 to £180 for a shower and about £70 to £150 for a bath rim. A non-white sanitary colour can sit higher because the tube is specific. The written quote states the colour and the price together.

When people book

A white bead on an ivory bath, or a yellowed clear bead on a glass screen, is the usual reason to ask for a match.

Before the visit

Wipe the area so the photo shows the real colour. Do not silicone it yourself in a different shade the week before.

After the bead is tooled

The cure time is about 24 hours, the same as a white bead. Do not paint up to a fresh silicone joint.

Questions on this job

Can you match the silicone I bought?

If it is a sanitary colour we can get, the quote will say so. A tube of decorator’s filler is the wrong product on a wet joint even if the colour looks right.

Will clear silicone hide a gap?

Clear still has to be tooled onto a clean edge. It does not fill a gap that needs the bath moved back to the wall.

Does a colour match cost more?

White sits in the normal shower and bath bands. Ivory, grey, clear or black can cost more because that tube is bought for the job. The quote names the shade and the price together.

How long does a coloured bead last?

The same as white sanitary silicone, if the old bead was removed and the edge was dry. Paint touched onto the joint, or a bead left under water, marks or peels it whatever the colour.
